Regal Foul (Banff, Alberta) - Monsters

from Axe the Heckler's Cross-Canada Cruise by Squamish Punk Night

about

Loudly heard among the mountain tops of Banff National Park comes a call wilder than any protected beast within its limits; Regal Foul. Formed in 2018 to provide a source of grungy punk entertainment for locals and tourists alike, Regal Foul has dedicated itself to being loud, unique and still approachable so even our moms can listen to us.

Regal Foul recorded and released their first full album, Monsters in Disguise, in 2020 with Matt Homeniuk of Omen Studios as producer. Featuring Gerry Roy on Guitar, Mitch McCallum on Drums and Brian MacEachern on Bass, the band divides the vocal duties and song writing equally.

For fans of Rise Against, Rancid and Bouncing Souls.

lyrics

Just glad to have you home, back from the war.
You donʼt have to deal with the monsters anymore.
The ones that you see when you look in the mirror.
The image of yourself that those people learned to fear.
With the rifle that you shot, and the trigger that you pulled.
That little girlʼs heart, as her body went cold.
Donʼt talk about it much, itʼs not something I’d discuss.
How you went to war and learned about losing trust!
Just glad to have you home, back from the pen.
I hope you think twice before you defend yourself again.
I promise youʼll be fine as long as you stay in line.
Donʼt the crime, if you canʼt do the time.
That little girl was in the way as they took aim at you
And if I was in your shoes, it's the same thing that I'd do.
I'd grab ‘em by the throat, I'd throw them up against the wall.
Your the victim here and somehow all of itʼs your fault
We think we're pretty good at knowing who we are.
Weʼre monsters in disguise, until weʼre pushed too far.
Then out come the claws, we need to recognize our flaws.
Remind us being human often has a cost
